Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott faces a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to repair a meniscus injury.
Bournemouth have revealed that Alex Scott has undergone surgery to repair a knee injury.
The Cherries would have been in high spirits after claiming a 2-0 victory in Saturday’s home clash against 10-man Arsenal.
Ryan Christie opened the scoring in the 70th minute, before Justin Kluivert netted a 79th-minute penalty to clinch all three points.
As a result of that win, Andoni Iraola‘s side moved up to 11th position ahead of Saturday’s away clash against Aston Villa.
Unfortunately for Bournemouth, the positive mood created by the Arsenal win has been somewhat dampened by the news that Scott has been added to their injury list.

Bournemouth confirm Scott surgery
The Cherries have announced that the midfielder has undergone surgery after sustaining a meniscus injury earlier this week.
In a statement on their website, Bournemouth said: “We can confirm that Alex Scott has today undergone a successful procedure to repair a meniscus injury sustained earlier this week.
“Further assessment following soreness at the end of a training session revealed the 21-year-old midfielder, who has featured in every Cherries match so far this season, would require surgery.
“The club’s performance and medicine staff will now support Alex through a rehabilitation process over the coming months, ensuring he has the best possible recovery.”

How will Scott’s absence affect Bournemouth?
The 21-year-old came into the side to make his second Premier League start of the season in the recent home win over Arsenal.
Unfortunately for Scott and Bournemouth, the Bristol City man is now facing an extended spell on the sidelines as he begins his recovery from knee surgery.
While he has not been a guaranteed starter, Scott has been a regular fixture in the Bournemouth squad this season and his absence represents a significant blow.
Fortunately, Iraola’s central midfield options have been boosted by the recent return of USA international Tyler Adams.
With Scott sidelined, Christie is likely to come into the side to partner Lewis Cook in the middle of the park for Saturday’s contest.
