Manchester United centre-back Leny Yoro could make his debut for the Red Devils in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Everton.
Manchester United centre-back Leny Yoro could make his official debut for the 20-time English champions in Sunday’s Premier League clash with Everton at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils beat Real Madrid to the signature of the teenager over the summer, with the Frenchman moving to the 20-time English champions from Lille in the middle of July.
Yoro made a huge impression against Rangers on his non-competitive debut before travelling with the Man United squad to the United States for their pre-season tour, but he fractured his metatarsal in a pre-season clash with Arsenal.
The 19-year-old has been on the sidelines since, but he is now closing in on a return, with the defender back in first-team training before the November international break.
“He’s been managed very well after his injury in pre-season,” ex-Man United interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy said when asked about the Frenchman earlier this month. “Obviously, it was going to be a long one and it’s a big moment for him, that first time he’s back in team training. We’re going to get him back partially over the coming weeks and look to get him on board as quickly as possible.”
Look who’s back! ?

Man United youngster Yoro is viewed as a generational talent
Yoro made 60 appearances for Lille, including 44 outings during the 2023-24 campaign, and he is regarded as one of the best young talents in world football.
The centre-back’s return will be like a new signing for Man United heading towards the festive period, and he could prove to be a vital player under new head coach Ruben Amorim, who selected a 3-4-3 system against Ipswich Town last weekend.
Yoro is likely to be key for the Portuguese due to his recovery pace, while the youngster is also extremely comfortable in possession of the ball and looks to be the perfect fit to operate as the right-sided centre-back.
There had been suggestions that he could be involved against Ipswich, but the defender did not make the trip to Portman Road, while he was not in training for Man United on Wednesday ahead of their Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt.
Amorim said that Yoro would again miss out against Bodo/Glimt, but a first appearance against Everton on Sunday afternoon is thought to be a possibility.
“He is available to train, but we are working on his fitness. This is important. He is a young guy, this is a massive club. It’s very important the first image, so we will try to put it together because he’s a great talent,” Amorim told reporters. “We believe a lot in him, and we are trying to prepare the best way to start with Leny.”

Which other Man United players have recovered from injuries?
Luke Shaw has made a timely return for Man United, with the left-back overcoming the calf issue which has kept him on the sidelines in the early stages of the campaign.
The defender used the November international break to build his fitness, and he was a second-half substitute against Ipswich.
Christian Eriksen, Antony and Mason Mount have also recently returned for the 20-time English champions to further boost their options heading towards the end of the year.
Tyrell Malacia is also taking part in full training sessions, with the defender continuing his recovery from the serious knee injury which has sidelined him since the end of the 2022-03 campaign, and he featured for the Under-21s at Huddersfield Town before being named on the bench against Ipswich.
Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez also trained on Wednesday, with the latter in line to return to the squad against Bodo/Glimt, but the former is not yet ready to take to the field, as he continues to recover from a troublesome calf problem.
Kobbie Mainoo is also back in contention ahead of the contest with Bodo/Glimt, with the Englishman in line to make his first appearance for the club since the start of October.
