Manchester City are among the Premier League giants vying for the signature of Sporting Lisbon sensation Geovany Quenda ahead of next summer, according to a report.
After spending a few years at Benfica, the young Portuguese talent moved to Sporting’s academy where he honed his skills before earning his spot in the first team.
Quenda scored his first goal for Verde e Brancos in August against Porto in the Supertaca Candido de Oliveira, and since then, he has become a regular under Ruben Amorim, featuring in eight league games this season while delivering a few crucial performances.
At 17 years of age, Quenda is already widely considered one of Portugal’s hottest prospects and is attracting attention from several clubs across Europe, including some of the Premier League’s giants.

Premier League giants eyeing up Geovany Quenda
According to CaughtOffside, Manchester City are one of several Premier League clubs that have set their sights on signing Quenda next summer.
However, the Citizens are likely to face stiff competition for the 17-year-old’s services, with Manchester United and Arsenal also keeping tabs on his development.
Other European giants credited with an interest in the Portuguese teenager include Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Sporting are not willing to allow the youngster to leave for cheap, though, with the report adding that the Portuguese champions have already slapped a massive price tag on the explosive winger.
It is understood that Quenda signed a new long-term contract with Leoes in September that included an increase in his exit clause which is now set at £83m, up from £37m previously.

Man United make enquiries over Quenda availability
Portuguese outlet A Bola report that Manchester United have already initiated contact with Sporting over the possibility of signing Quenda next summer.
Securing a deal for Quenda would see him join the ranks of legendary players who transitioned from Estadio Jose Alvalade to Old Trafford and achieved superstar status.
This distinguished list features the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Marcos Rojo, and current club captain Bruno Fernandes.
United are believed to be in the market for a right-winger, with Antony having struggled to find his feet since arriving in England, and now potentially facing a period on the sidelines through injury.
However, the Red Devils’ recent track record with big-money signings has been a bit of a mixed bag, and after another costly summer, shelling out £83m for the 17-year-old could be a risky proposition.
