Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Newcastle United’s Lloyd Kelly asking price, Andres Garcia to Aston Villa and Wilfried Zaha to the MLS.
Newcastle United have slapped a significant £20m asking price on Fenerbahce-linked defender Lloyd Kelly.
Earlier this week, Fenerbahce vice-president Acun Ilicali confirmed the club’s interest in signing the former Bournemouth man.
Ilicali told reporters: “We are in talks for Lloyd Kelly transfer. He’s a player we’re interested in. If we can reach an agreement we will transfer this player.”
As per The Athletic, Newcastle have already rejected an £11m transfer offer for the 26-year-old, who is under contract until the summer of 2029.
According to The Chronicle, the Magpies will value Kelly in the region of £20m, dealing a blow to Fenerbahce’s hopes of securing his signature.
The Turkish giants are unlikely to pursue a deal at that price, and they may now turn their attention to Aston Villa centre-back Diego Carlos.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe played down the suggestion that Kelly could leave before the transfer window shuts next month.
Kelly has struggled to establish himself in the Newcastle side since arriving on a free transfer from Bournemouth last summer, having had to settle for just four starts in nine Premier League appearances.

Villa agree Garcia deal
Staying in the Premier League, Aston Villa are reportedly close to signing Levante right-back Andres Garcia.
After signing winger Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund, Villa appear to be close to unveiling their second signing of the winter transfer window.
According to Relevo, Villa have reached an agreement to sign Levante’s Garcia, having fended off competition from Sporting Lisbon and Real Betis.
The Villans have agreed a €7m (£5.9m) transfer with the Segunda Division side, which could rise by €2m (£1.7m) depending on certain conditions.
Levante were keen for Garcia to return on loan for the rest of the season, but the full-back is set for an immediate move to Villa Park.
Garcia will compete with Matty Cash for the right-back spot, while his arrival could allow Villa to loan out Kosta Nedeljkovic.

Zaha on verge of MLS move
Meanwhile, former Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha is on the brink of joining Charlotte FC on loan from Galatasaray.
The 32-year-old attacker joined Galatasaray in the summer of 2023 following the expiry of his Crystal Palace contract.
After spending last season in Turkey, Zaha was sent out on loan to French side Lyon at the start of the current campaign.
However, he was recently recalled after mustering just seven competitive appearances, leaving the Ligue 1 side without troubling the scorers.
According to GIVEMESPORT, Zaha has now flown to the United States to finalise a loan move to Charlotte FC – the team managed by former Aston Villa boss Dean Smith.
Charlotte have already agreed a deal with Galatasaray to sign Zaha on loan through 2025, with an option to extend by a further six months.
Zaha will undergo a medical before he officially joins Charlotte ahead of the 2025 MLS season which is set to get underway near the end of February.
